Enable / Disable Thumbnail Previews in Windows 7 or Vista Explorer

Synopsis

Are your Files & Folders no longer displaying the image preview? Do you want to disable the Thumbnail Preview from displaying?

If you want to speed up browsing around in explorer, you might think about disabling thumbnail previews in folders.  

Applicable To

  • Windows Vista
  • Windows  7

Prerequisite

  • Microsoft Windows based PC Desktop or Laptop Computer.

Step-by-step Instructions

  • To make this change, click the Organize button on any folder, and choose Folder and Search Options from the menu.

Computer - Folder Search Options Menu

  • Click the View tab, and then check the Always show icons, never thumbnails checkbox.

Click on VIEW Tab - Folder Options

  • Check or Uncheck “ Always show icons, never thumbnails
  • Click Apply and Ok, you are done!
