How to configure a Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record (Exchange 2016). 

  • Applicable to
    All Live-Tech 2016 hosted Exchange accounts. 
  • Prerequisite
    You must have a Live-Tech 2016 hosted Exchange account
  • How to
    The Sender Policy Framework (SPF) is a technical method to prevent sender address forgery.
    Note : this configuration has to be done on your PUBLIC DNS server, which might be managed by a hosting provider.
    Make sure you transmit the correct information to be added:


MX record values (either at the DNS or at the filter if you are currently using one):


Autodiscover: Either modify the existing A record called Autodiscover or add one pointing to IP:


SPF record : Add or modify your SPF record to this :

- Type of record: TXT

- Hostname: your domain suffix (ex:

- Value to add: v=spf1 ip4: -all



If you are using Outlook 2003 or 2007, you will need to update your version in order to synchronize to the new platform as they are no longer compatible.

If you are using Outlook 2010, please make sure you have the latest version SP2 with the updates KB2956191 and KB2965295 installed.
